Wild boars Spotted in Knaresborough

Wild Boar STEEL ANIMAL Sculptures LOCATED AT Mother Shipton’s Cave in Knaresborough, North Yorkshire

If you don’t know already, Mother Shipton’s cave is in Knaresborough, North Yorkshire. There’s a lot of history surrounding this area; Mother Shipton is famous for being a sage or soothsayer in the 1500s. She was known for her many prophecies, fortunes, and predictions throughout her life, and Mother Shipton’s cave is a well-known and popular Yorkshire destination for tourists.

Knowing how popular this destination is, I am grateful for my metal sculpture art to be on show there. You can find my wild boar metal art sculptures on show to the public, and this will give you a real insight into the work I create, as well as how it could look in your preferred outdoor location if you were to commission a piece like this (click to enquire).

What an awe inspiring moment to see my creations in there new home, which can be admired by many visitors to come. When I spoke to the very happy owner of these creations she told me the reason why she wanted a family of boars: rumour has it the last wild boars in England were culled in this forest as it used to be the part of royal forest”.

Therefore she wanted to commemorate this, and has plans to tell more tales and facts of the history of Mother Shipton, which will enrich this remarkable attraction to new heights.

I feel very proud that my boars are telling a story, as artists we strive to create work of value and meaning, what more can I possibly want?

My Wild Boar Metal Art Sculpture Project

After months of work I finally finished making a family of wild boars, its been a great project I’ve learn new skills and gain more confidence with this new style. I’m now filled with ideas and designs, of transferring my style to other animal sculptures.

For those who missed my last blog, I have developed a new way of sculpting an animal out of steel. Having taken inspiration from Picasso’s bull drawings where he uses a few lines to give the essence and spirit of the animal. I plan to do the same in 3d form bending and shaping round bars my designed form.

Starting out each boar was the hardest part as trying to get a structure together. I found once I had made some leg parts and welded down it then became easier to get into the 3d perspective of the animal.
